Du Hsiao Yueh
Danzai noodles, also known as Ta-a mi, is one of the most famous and traditional noodles in Taiwan. The story began in 1895 as the founder of Du Hsiao Yueh, Hong Yu-Tou, tried to make a living during the slack season of fishing (the slack season is called “Hsiao Yueh” in Mandarin). Hong started selling noodles on the street. Fortunately, his secret recipe of cooking Danzai noodles with a unique flavor brought him wealth during the slack season of fishing. Since then, Hong started selling Danzai Noodle full time, and he named the brand, “Du Hsiao Yueh” (which means passing the slack season in Mandarin). Du Hsiao Yueh quickly became the synonym of Danzai noodles, and it is regarded as one of the most famous delicacies in Taiwan. Until today, Du Hsiao Yueh diligently makes a wide collection of premium Taiwanese food products, and it successfully promoted the local delicacies of Taiwan to many regions of the world.
